WorldPride puts queer tourism in the spotlight

Queer travel is no longer a niche, and Amsterdam is now being treated as a case study. Globetrender, the travel trends publication, has put WorldPride 2026 in Amsterdam at the centre of a piece on queer tourism. The framing is telling: the event is discussed not only as a celebration but as a moment when the travel industry looks hard at how it serves LGBTQ+ visitors. That conversation matters because LGBTQ+ travellers tend to choose destinations on more than sights and price. Whether a city feels welcoming, whether venues are safe, and whether there is a visible community to meet all shape where people go and how they spend their evenings. Amsterdam has long been part of that picture. Its reputation rests on decades of queer bars, clubs and organisers, and a global event like WorldPride puts that reputation in front of a much wider audience. The test, as always, is what visitors find once the headlines move on. For the Vibra community, that is the useful part. Tourism trends come and go, but the nights out are built by the people who live here and keep showing up for them. Vibra exists to make that easier: finding LGBTQ+ nightlife in Amsterdam, buying tickets in one place, and earning Pulse points for the nights you attend, so loyalty to the scene is recognised all year round, not just during a headline month. If you are welcoming friends from abroad, or simply exploring your own city a bit more, this is a good moment to go out, support the venues and organisers you love, and bring someone new along.
